Bavaria starts nursing fellow: How to find help quickly!
Bayern, Deutschland - Bayern's Minister of Health Judith Gerlach recently discussed the challenges in the search for nursing places. In particular, she referred to the “nursing finder Bavaria”, which started in January 2024, an online portal that is intended to help users find available care and support offers. According to pnp.de use almost 1,450 people this offer, which corresponds to an increase in almost 550 registrations since January 2023
In the "Pflefinder Bavaria", more than 2,400 providers of inpatient and outpatient care are listed. Minister Gerlach sees Bavaria as a nationwide pioneer in this regard, as the portal aims to generate a large part of the search queries for care offers. Users can simply specify their zip code and care needs to find the available offers near you.
functions of the nursing finder
The nursing finder offers both a general and a specific search. The general search only requires entering a postcode and the need for care, while the specific search is supplemented by a detailed filter function. These filters enable users to provide more precise information about their needed care level, gender and age group. Data about special care hardships can optionally be added, as from information on StMgp.bayern.de .
In order to create a user profile, enter an email address is required, but this is not passed on to the providers. For safety, the portal offers end-to-end encryption for the exchange of information. In addition, the nursing finder automatically generates a 9-digit profile ID number that can be used for communication with support.
outlook and challenges
Despite the promising start of the nursing finder, the initiative is rather slow. So far, almost 900 outpatient and inpatient facilities have been connected, which is far below the more than 4,000 care facilities in Bavaria. Former Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek described the project as unique, but expressed subject associations mixed reactions. While the social association VDK describes the nursing finder as a good start, the relative organization "we maintain" criticizes that the message of open care places is voluntary and requires a legal obligation to register. Gerlach plans to further develop the nursing finder and improve user-friendliness to facilitate access to nursing offers, as on Br.de is.
Overall, it remains to be seen how the nursing finder will develop and whether he can actually efficiently meet the need for nursing places in Bavaria. However, Gerlach is convinced that the digital tool will be helpful support for seekers.
