Alba Berlin fails in the playoff thriller against Ratiopharm Ulm!
Ulm, Deutschland - In the decisive third game of the quarter-final series of the BBL playoffs, Ratiopharm Ulm team with 84:93 and therefore had to accept the exit from the playoffs. This result ends the season for the Berliners, who were previously considered one of the strongest teams in the league.
The game was competitive from the start. After a bumpy start, both teams found better into the game after five minutes. Alba Berlin led after the first quarter with 24:20. In the second quarter, Nate Hinton managed to bring Ulm 26:24 in the lead, but Alba was able to win the upper hand again at halftime and led with 45:43.

But the Ulm were not shaken up and stayed on the ball in the final quarter. In the decisive minutes, Ratiopharm Ulm managed to put a decisive 10: 2 run, which ultimately secured victory.
Marcio Santos was the best thrower for Ulm with 23 points, while the Berliners in the last quarter of swords were offensive. The pressure in the team was noticeable and they no longer found a means to decide the game.
The season in retrospect
The playoffs started for Ratiopharm Ulm with the first round against Alba Berlin, and the team started with a home win. Head Coach Ty Harrelson had wished for a high anticipation for the series after the Ulm were able to win several games with over 100 points in the main round. Ratiopharm Ulm has developed an important advantage through the successes in front of home.
