Magical chemistry experiments: Elementary school students inspire on the school day!
On June 2, 2025, enthusiastic young researchers come together for a special event in the Hohes Kreuz primary school. On this day the student day will be "play of colors and potions - the magical chemistry!" take place, organized by chemists from the University of Regensburg under the direction of Dr. Michael Bodensteiner. The aim of this event is to playfully bring the world of chemistry closer to the children and to arouse a curiosity of natural sciences with them, such as UniSegsburg.de reported.
A total of 120 primary school children will take part in the event, which are guided through various hands-on stations in small groups. An exciting program with numerous experiments awaits you here. The highlights include the color change of blue cabbage, deleting a flame with a CO₂ fire extinguisher and the production of edible bubble-tea beads. This world of experience ensures great joy, amazement and new knowledge among the children. The event is part of the engagement of the University of Regensburg for early and life -very science placement.
Various offers for knowledge transfer
The concept of the student day exemplifies the efforts to inspire young people for scientific topics. In addition, there is also an exciting offer for young scientists in Berlin. The researcher holidays of the glass laboratory offer children between the ages of 6 and 12 to explore various scientific topics in half and all-day courses, as executed on researcherien-berlin.de
During the research holidays, the children can experiment in the glass laboratory on the Berlin-Buch campus under the guidance of expert scientists. These courses include both practical laboratory work, such as experimenting with a fuel cell and creative afternoon activities that deepen what you have learned in a playful way. Topics such as biology, chemistry and physics are in the foreground and invite children to gain their own experiences in science.
a common mission
Both events pursue the common goal of inspiring children for science and promoting their curiosity. Whether in the elementary school Hohes Kreuz or in the glass laboratory - the approach, learning to combine with fun runs through all activities. Parents and children can look forward to educational experiences that not only convey knowledge, but also to sustainably increase interest in the natural sciences.
