Visit the berlin modern open construction site days in Berlin!

Today, on October 18, 2025, the shell of the new “berlin modern” opens its doors at the Cultural Forum for 20th Century Art. On the “open construction site days” visitors can gain unique insights into the architecture of Herzog & de Meuron. The project not only honors the historical legacy of the Bauhaus movement, but also creates the basis for future exhibitions at the Neue Nationalgalerie. An event not to be missed!

The opening times are today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and tomorrow, October 19th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In order to optimize your visit, time slot tickets for 6 euros are only available online in advance. Access is via Scharounplatz on the corner of Potsdamer Straße.

An interactive experience

The special thing about the open construction site days is the opportunity not only to view the shell of the building, but also to take part in an open tour. During this exploration, visitors can study the plan sketches and find out about the innovative exhibition concept on display boards. The crowning conclusion is the performance “Mirror Piece” by Joan Jonas, which takes place in the entrance area at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Joan Jonas has caused a sensation worldwide with her performances and installations. Her works combine visual art with performative elements and thus appeal to a broad audience. This event promises to be a great opportunity to experience art up close while learning more about the cost and construction process of the project.

A cultural highlight in the calendar

Overall, the event will help promote social and cultural togetherness, an essential aspect that the project initiators emphasize. “berlin modern” is envisioned as a future place of art and dialogue, a place of inspiration that attracts both trade visitors and the general public.

In addition to the opening events in Berlin, interesting travel offers are offered that deal with the architecture and art of the 20th century. For example, those interested in culture can book trips to Dessau and Berlin to find out more about the Bauhaus movement. These offerings are a great example of how art and travel can be combined to raise awareness of history and design.
