Basdorfer PSV celebrates: three medals at the German championships!
The German Ju-Jutsu Championships took place on June 21st and 22nd, 2025 in Norderstedt and attracted numerous athletes from all over Germany. Among them was the Brandenburg team, which presented itself with a strong team of seven athletes and was able to win a total of five medals. Particularly noteworthy is the impressive performance of the Basdorfer PSV athletes, who qualified at the ODEM in Weimar in May and then faced the competition in northern Germany.
A real star of the tournament was Martin, 39 years old, who fought in the 94kg category. On Saturday morning he started the competition brilliantly and reached the semi-finals with two early victories. With another victory, Martin moved into the final, where he ultimately competed against a national team athlete and won his fifth German championship title. Barnim Aktuell reports that Martin confidently defended his lead after an initial deficit and won the fight with 13:10 points.
Successful young talents
But it wasn't just Martin who shone: Oskar, who fought in the semi-finals after a bye, was also able to prevail and reach his first final at a German championship. Unfortunately he had to admit defeat in the decisive fight, but still became runner-up. Jan also showed excellent performances in the U21 up to 62 kg, where he won the first three fights, but lost in the fourth fight and also brought home the title of German runner-up. PSV won a total of one gold medal and two silver medals, which impressively demonstrates the talent pool and training quality in Brandenburg. Ju-Jutsu Brandenburg highlights that, in addition to Martin, Oskar Götz and Jan Henrik Böttger are also among the new vice-champions.
A special mention also goes to Luis, who competed at the Kickboxing World Cup in Hungary between June 14th and 15th and took a respectable third place in the LK -89kg class. The Budokids from PSV Basdorf also passed their running badge and were recognized for their endurance and perseverance. These successes reflect the great commitment of the coaches and the support of the athletes' families.
A look at the Ju-Jutsu Association
The event in Norderstedt is an example of the successful work of DJJV e.V., the largest association for self-defense and violence prevention in Germany. The DJJV, active since 1990 and a member of the German Olympic Sports Confederation, offers broad access to Ju-Jutsu, which is considered a self-defense system. Its programs are aimed at children, young people and adults and promote both popular and competitive sports. DJJV continuously conducts research to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of training methods and to further develop the sport.
In summary, the German Championships were a successful event for the sport of Ju-Jutsu in Germany, bringing the talents of tomorrow onto the big stage. With a lot of commitment and passion, the athletes from PSV Basdorf and Team Brandenburg impressively demonstrated their skills. The coming months can only be exciting for the athletes.
