Ex-boyfriend beats up woman: Police investigate suspect!
On August 12, 2025, there was a serious argument between a former couple in Friedensweg, Blumberg, which had fatal consequences for the 29-year-old woman. She suffered injuries from punches and kicks from her 27-year-old ex-partner and had to be taken to hospital. The man, who did not have a valid driver's license and was possibly under the influence of drugs, is now being investigated for grievous bodily harm, driving without a license and driving under the influence of intoxicants. A blood sample was taken to check his drug use. Barnim Current reports that these incidents are not isolated, but rather part of a larger context of violent clashes in the region.
The injuries the woman suffered in particular highlight the disruption of order and security in our everyday lives. The man's actions could be viewed as a dangerous encroachment on physical integrity, which, according to the Criminal Code (§ 315b StGB), represents a concrete danger to life and limb - a qualification that undoubtedly applies given these circumstances. Law Academy shows that dangerous interventions can be recorded not only through damage to property, but also in the form of bodily harm.
More incidents in the region
On the same day, August 13, 2025, at 9:10 a.m. on Eberswalder Straße, Eberswalde, there was a traffic accident between a VW Tiguan and a motorcycle driven by a 37-year-old driver. The motorcyclist suffered injuries but was released on site after initial medical treatment. The material damage is estimated at around 1,000 euros. These types of incidents also have an impact on overall road safety in the region.
Furthermore, a theft was reported on August 12th at a construction site on Mühlenbecker Straße, Schönerlinde. Unknown people stole four aluminum scaffolding planks, which caused the affected company material damage amounting to several hundred euros. Investigations by the criminal police are already underway here. Unfortunately, such crimes are not uncommon; between 2014 and 2024 alone, the Federal Criminal Police Office recorded an increase in police-recorded cases of dangerous and serious bodily harm in Germany. Danger in road traffic
Another incident affecting road safety in the region also occurred on August 12, when a truck driver reported being blinded with a laser pointer. This dangerous behavior posed an immediate danger to all road users, but fortunately there were no accidents. A 34-year-old suspect has been identified and is now being held responsible for dangerous interference with road traffic. This shows how thin the line can be between serious misconduct and devastating consequences.
The incidents in Blumberg and Eberswalde cast a shadow on everyday safety. Whether it's physical altercations or traffic accidents - all of this shows that there is a need for action in our region to promote safe and respectful coexistence.
