Santa Claus is coming: Boot delivery for children in Bernau will start soon!
It will be Christmassy in Bernau city center from November 11th to 14th, as Santa Claus shopping is just around the corner. A highlight of this festive season is the boot donation for children, which combines great joy and exciting traditions. Children up to 10 years old can hand in their cleaned boots at the “St. Nicholas Offices” and look forward to a surprise. How Barnim Current Reportedly, the drop-off points for this can be found in the tourist information office at Mayorstrasse 4 and in the city library at Breitscheidstrasse 43b. The opening times vary: from Tuesday to Thursday the boots can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., on Friday only until 2 p.m.
An important special feature is that the number of boot slots is limited to 1000. Only real children's boots are allowed; unfortunately, hand-made models are not permitted. For a little extra magic, little guests can also drop off a letter to Santa Claus in the Tourist Information courtyard. These letters will then be sent postage free to Santa Claus' office in Himmelpfort on December 13th, which increases the anticipation of the festival even further.
An exciting St. Nicholas festival
Finally, December 6th is the big day: Santa Claus fills the boots that have been handed in and hides them in the shop windows in the city center. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., parents and children can go looking and pick up their boots. This event is supported by numerous business owners with sponsorships. Private individuals also have the opportunity to become a godchild for 10 euros per boot and thus enrich the festival.
