Practical forum in Eberswalde: Get SMEs ready for e-invoices now!
From January 1, 2025, things will get serious for many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Germany: the mandatory introduction of electronic invoices, better known as e-invoices, is just around the corner. The new regulation brings with it some challenges, especially for companies that are not yet equipped with the necessary processes and systems. What does this mean for companies in this country? WITO Barnim GmbH has recognized the signs of the times and is starting a free workshop series in autumn 2025 to support companies in this change. Barnim currently reports that the practical forum specifically addresses the needs of SMEs and offers space for practical information as well as exchange and networking.
The first event will take place on November 13, 2025 at 2 p.m. on the premises of WITO Barnim GmbH in Eberswalde. The focus here will be on the topic of e-invoicing and procedural documentation. The aim is to provide participating companies with practical information so that they can better implement the legal requirements. Commitment to e-invoicing
The new regulation on e-invoicing does not only affect large companies; Small and micro-enterprises also have to prepare for implementation. From 2025 they will be obliged to receive and process e-invoices, like Haufe explains. The obligation applies to taxable transactions between domestically based entrepreneurs (B2B) and will mean a change for many, as there are often hardly any suitable technical systems in place.
The challenges are clear: A study by Bitkom shows that over 50% of companies have difficulties with digitalization. Data protection requirements, a shortage of skilled workers and a lack of budgets are at the top of the list. But there are also bright spots: the introduction of e-invoicing can help SMEs to compete on an equal footing with large companies if they approach the change sensibly. Loud E-Invoicing Association Entrepreneurs should inform themselves early and involve external experts, such as tax advisors or IT service providers, to ensure a smooth transition.
The path to digital invoices
In my opinion, it is important that companies realize that digitalization is a continuous process. Not everything has to be perfect straight away.
