Brandenburg celebrates the Fête de la Musique: A summer full of sounds!
On June 28, 2025, Brandenburg once again celebrated the Fête de la Musique, an event that is an absolute highlight for music lovers. In more than 15 venues, from the train station suburb to the old town, the city was transformed into a musical festival. The atmosphere was pleasant and characterized by a diverse mix of people gathering in different locations to enjoy the variety of music.
The event started at midday in St. Catherine's Church with the sonorous sounds of the organ. The musical program covered a wide range of styles: from classical music to swing, salsa, singer-songwriter, indie and rap to reggae and DJ sets. A cheerful melody came from the numerous cafés, bars and courtyards that captivated the entire city.
The colorful program for everyone
The organizers, the Jugendkulturfabrik Brandenburg and their local partners, ensured a consistently positive experience. Some venues, such as the Bollmannpassage, the theater and the Bootshauswiese, were particularly full at times, which indicates the ever-increasing popularity of the event. Every year the Fête de la Musique attracts more and more visitors who celebrate and make music together.
Perhaps the worst thing about the event was the large selection: musicians trying out themselves and bands inviting people to sing along, thrilled by the audience's reaction. A variety of artists entertained the guests, making the day unforgettable. A big thank you went to the venues, sponsors and supporters who made this event possible.
A global phenomenon
The Fête de la Musique is not just a regional event. Music is also celebrated worldwide. Over 120 countries, including Germany, Italy and Spain, have a special day to celebrate the universal language of music. In France, the pioneer of these celebrations, Music Day was created in 1982 to promote both amateur and professional musicians, as well as allowing them to perform for free in public spaces. This concept has now found many imitators and is also celebrated in cities like Tokyo and New York, where people come together through music.
The Fête de la Musique in Brandenburg is not just a festival for the city, but also part of a global movement that focuses on the appreciation of music and its diversity. Thanks to everyone who helped make this day a success! Anyone who experienced the festive atmosphere last Saturday can be sure: music not only brings people together - it is also a reason to celebrate.
