Chaos in the Havelland: Burning cars and drunk trips shake the night!

In the last few days there have been some remarkable incidents in the Havelland and in Brandenburg an der Havel, which both the police and the fire brigade trot. The topics of drunk driving and fire events in particular dominated the headlines and show that many road users still underestimate the dangers of alcohol and drugs in road traffic.

On Saturday, June 21, 2025, a 45-year-old driver from Falkensee caused a sensation when she was caught at the wheel with over 1.6 per thousand. As reported rathenow24.de, a blood sample was arranged against the woman, her driver's license was withdrawn and a criminal complaint was created. Drunkenness in traffic is punished in accordance with Section 316 of the Criminal Code, which means in plain language that it has to expect a fine or even a prison sentence of up to one year. This is no coincidence, because from 1.1 per thousand you are considered absolutely driving, the consequences are serious. Experts indicate that relative inability to drive can be available from 0.3 per thousand and that driving under the influence of drugs is also punishable.

further incidents in the region

Not only the drunk ride caused unrest. In Dallgow-Döberitz, unknown perpetrators stole a Ford E150 in the Havelpark car park between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. The criminal police are already investigating, but the vehicle remains unobtrusive for the time being. Such delinquent actions not only burden the police resources, but also the feeling of security of the residents.

In Milow, a forest fire broke out on the same day, which took an area of around 5,000 m². Fortunately, the fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly, while the cause of the fire has so far remained unknown. This shows how important the fire brigade is quickly intervened in dangerous situations to avert greater damage.

further traffic incidents and security situation

Another incident that the police employed on Friday, June 20, 2025, was a 32-year-old moped driver who was caught with a fake driver's license. A procedure was also initiated here, and the onward journey was prohibited. Such violations show that many still lacks insight in terms of safety in road traffic.

A worrying trend: In 2022, around 4 million crimes in connection with road traffic were registered in Germany, about 2 % of which are due to alcohol-related incidents, as anwalt.de. These figures make it clear that the abuse of alcohol and drugs in traffic is still a serious problem that is not only worrying for the traffic acafety, but can also result in considerable legal consequences for those affected.

With this mixture of traffic accidents and criminal activities, it can be seen that there is still a need for action in the Havelland and Brandenburg area on the Havel in order to make both the streets safer and to provide information about the dangers of drunkenness and drugs at the wheel.
