Fischerjakobi 2025: parade and fireworks in Plaue am Bornufer!
In the picturesque town of Plaue, which belongs to Brandenburg an der Havel, the popular Fischerjakobi festival is just around the corner. From July 25th to 27th, 2025, the 26th edition of this traditional event will take place, dedicated to fishermen and their patron saint, James the Elder. The Fischerjakobi Association, which organizes the festival, provides a colorful program right on the banks of the Havel, where guests can expect an unforgettable weekend. Admission is free, making the festival an ideal destination for the whole family. So reported maz-online.de.
But what exactly can visitors expect? On Friday, July 25th, the festival begins at 4:00 p.m. with musical entertainment by DJ Roger. At 6:00 p.m. the ceremonial opening will take place by Pastor Christian Bochwitz, accompanied by a parade by the RC Plaue and the impressive salute by the Plauer Schützenguilde 1875. After the first ceremony, rock and blues guitarist Bodo Lüddemann entertains the guests, followed by a rousing performance by the DJs “The Partycrasher’s”. The crowning conclusion of the first day of the festival is a spectacular fireworks display at 10 p.m., which is accompanied by a scenic performance entitled “The children bring the light to Plaue”.
The exciting supporting program
Saturday, July 26th, brings additional highlight potential, starting at 10:00 a.m. with the big parade from Puschkinstrasse to the festival grounds, musically accompanied by the Märkische Schalmeienkapelle Brandenburg 1958. At 2:00 p.m., visitors can look forward to a performance by ventriloquist Marko Krause and at 3:00 p.m. they head to the rowing regatta with a moderation further. A highlight will certainly be the dance performance by Ali’s dance and gymnastics group at 5:00 p.m., followed by the live band “Tick2Loud” at 8:00 p.m., which will encourage the audience to celebrate. The special fishing exhibition in the farm shop at the castle is open on this day from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., another treat for all fish lovers.
How does it look on Sunday? A celebratory service will take place from 10:00 a.m., followed by musical accompaniment by DJ Detlef Lober. At 11:30 a.m., maritime sounds are on the program when the duo “Die Havelkipper” performs shanties. Another highlight is the large procession of Plauer fishermen at 2 p.m., which is blessed by Pastor Christian Bochwitz. At 5:00 p.m. the party band “Empire” will bring the festival to a lively end.
Traditional and full of activities
Tradition is very important here: In addition to the various musical acts and shows, visitors can enjoy freshly smoked fish according to old recipes - a real treat! The Fischerjakobi is also enriched by numerous traditional activities such as the salute, the rowing regatta and the fishermen's parade. There is no room for boredom. In addition, security precautions will be increased this year to ensure a safe event. More security forces and bollards will be provided to block access to the festival site.
Also worth mentioning are the numerous entertainment options for the youngest guests. A children's area with face painting and an appearance by the clown Pipi Wunderlich let the little visitors shine. If you want to experience something, you can also opt for tours on the Havel, although these are subject to a fee. However, the weather can cause some unpredictability and adjustments may be necessary in case of inclement weather, particularly during fireworks displays.
We can look forward to a varied and entertaining weekend in Plaue - a festival that not only honors the traditions of the region, but also brings new energy and joy to the community. Festivals like Fischerjakobi manage to build bridges between tradition and modernity and open up a space for togetherness.
