Havelcrowd supports young talents: World Cup in Japan is calling!
The world of sport is often about more than just medals and trophies. It's about promoting young talent, improving training conditions and supporting community projects. This shows the current commitment of the BSRK, which recently invested in promoting young talent. With new equipment for young talents, the training opportunities are to be noticeably improved. What is particularly pleasing is that a total of 7,375 euros were collected through a fundraising campaign, with 1,610 euros coming from the municipal utilities' funding pot. 138 people took part in this campaign and together they set an important example. As Meetingpoint Brandenburg reports, last year two young athletes, Raya and Carlotta, even traveled to the Junior World Championships in the USA thanks to the Havelcrowd. The two are now deservedly looking forward to their next big performance in Japan.
The World Rope Skipping Championship will take place in Kawasaki from July 27th to August 3rd, 2025. The Sparkling Skippers team from the Turnerschaft 1863 Germersheim e.V. qualified for the event. What is particularly interesting is that 16 young jumpers from the group will take part in the competition. Rope skipping combines speed disciplines, choreography and gymnastics elements. However, the financial effort is a challenge, as the costs totaling 41,240 euros for the entire group have to be met by the athletes themselves. These costs include, but are not limited to, accommodation, travel costs and registration fees. Since rope skipping is not an Olympic sport, the athletes do not receive any direct public funding. For this reason, the group has launched a fundraising campaign to secure the necessary funds. For more information, visit the GoFundMe page.
Sport funding in Germany
Germany is a country with a deeply rooted sports culture in which millions of people are regularly active. Sport funding aims to enable integration, inclusion and health promotion. Different funding approaches, such as supporting popular sports and competitive sports, help to improve people's quality of life and develop talent. Initiatives that focus on supporting young athletes are particularly important and receive support from various funding sources. This is confirmed by the [funding research] blog (https://blog-foerdermittel.de/2024/05/fordermittel-fur-sportprojekte-und-sportfördern/), which highlights the role of public money and foundations in sports funding.
The commitment of the BSRK and the Sparkling Skippers shows how important it is to support young athletes. Community projects and fundraisers enable these talents to achieve their dreams and showcase themselves on major international stages. The feedback from the campaigns and participation in important competitions are crucial to strengthening the sense of community and driving forward the positive development of sport in Germany.
