Kaufland opens a new store: Beetzsee Center shines in new splendor!

A lot is happening at the Beetzsee Center in Brandenburg. After the closure of the “mein real” market in March 2024, Kaufland has now set the authorities in motion and is preparing to revitalize the shopping center. The new Kaufland market opens on June 21, 2025 at 7:00 a.m., but a pre-opening event with invited guests took place on June 18, as the city of Brandenburg reports that the center has undergone a comprehensive redesign and brings with it Kaufland's new super shopping experience.

The conversion did not come without challenges. Difficulties with the subsoil led to delays that put the schedule to the test. Nevertheless, those responsible are optimistic about the future. “We have shown a good hand in working with the city administration,” said René Hoffmann from Kaufland. Mayor Steffen Scheller also praised the joint process as positive and supportive.

Investments and new opportunities

The Kaufland store was extensively renovated with an investment of around 11 million euros. The focus here was on energy-saving and climate-friendly technologies. Closed refrigeration cabinets and LED lighting are used, and a heat pump provides efficient heating and cooling solutions. The sales area of the new market is around 5,600 square meters and offers over 30,000 items that cover everyday needs.

The creation of around 100 new jobs in Brandenburg and the surrounding area shows that the opening of the Kaufland market brings benefits not only for shoppers, but also for the region's economy. Anyone who likes to get up early can be happy: the first customer will certainly be at the door at 6:25 a.m. waiting for the opening.

Beetzsee Center is becoming more diverse

But the innovations in the Beetzsee Center are not just limited to Kaufland. Other stores have also redesigned their spaces. The Steinecke bakery and the SoGut butcher shop have expanded their offerings, while the GECO shop has a larger area. Janny’s Eiscafé and the Kienast Schuh Outlet are also scheduled to open in June. The redesign also takes the needs of younger visitors into account with new seating and two play areas for children.

As part of the opening of the Kaufland market, a family party will be organized on June 21st from 10:00 a.m., which promises numerous special offers. The newly revamped shopping center will not only be a shopping destination, but also a place for communal experiences.

The further development of Kaufland is not only evident in Brandenburg. The company has big plans and is considering opening at least 22 new stores by the end of 2025, including some former Real branches. Kaufland stays in tune with the times and shows that retail in Brandenburg and beyond needs a breath of fresh air.
