Creative holiday program: imagination and art for all ages!
In the middle of the summer holidays, the Brandenburg Adult Education Center is opening a creative program that attracts children, young people and adults. From August 4th to 8th, the institution is offering a free holiday week called “Go and Stay”, aimed at children aged eight and over. In addition to the opportunity to discover new talents, participants can expect an exciting start with an interactive tour through the special exhibition “Hin und Weg” in the city museum. Here, for five days, the museum becomes an open space for imagination and creative expression.
The diverse program includes activities such as theater, art and stories. To support the creative development of the participants, a warm lunch is provided daily. This HOLISTIC concept is supported by the federal program “Culture makes you strong!” funded, which aims to strengthen cultural education in Germany, as der Paritätische reports.
Creativity and encounter
On August 13th, all art enthusiasts are invited to take part in a creative workshop on the exhibition “Hin und Weg”. Here, both children and adults can let their creativity run wild and create an artistic collage after the tour. In addition, the adult education center is offering a number of exciting creative courses for different age groups during the first week of the holidays, from July 29th to 31st. This includes a compact course “Sewing with a sewing machine” for children aged seven and over and the “Crazy Critters Felting Workshop” for adults and children aged eight and over, which is intended to stimulate the imagination.
In another initiative, a short film project entitled “Democracy in Everyday Life” for young people aged 11 and over will be carried out from September 1st to 5th. Here the young filmmakers have the chance to develop their ideas, write scripts and make short films. As the BMBF emphasizes, cultural education promotes an engagement with art and culture and offers valuable educational and participation opportunities, particularly to children and young people with little access.
Variety of offers and support
The project “Culture Makes You Strong: Alliances for Education” has been funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research since 2013 and has now developed into an important component of cultural education in Germany. Up to 50 million euros in funding are made available every year to implement extracurricular projects such as summer vacation offers. Participation in these projects has already reached 1.5 million children and young people, showing how important such initiatives are for personal development and social integration.
Registration for the individual events takes place via the adult education center website. Anyone interested can reach the VHS at www.vhs-brandenburg.de or visit Upstallstraße 25, 14772 Brandenburg an der Havel for further information. With a good knack for creative impulses, this not only creates a summer holiday season, but also a space for growth and development.
