Summer festival in the city museum: Discover, participate and experience stories!

What awaits us in summer 2025? A colorful bouquet of cultural experiences and interactive events in the Brandenburg an der Havel City Museum! From August 4th to September 2nd, a variety of activities, guided tours and workshops will be offered under the theme “Go and Stay” that combine both history and personal stories. The City Museum Don't do things by halves.

At the heart of the program is the special exhibition “Hin und Weg”, which deals with the various routes – be it water, land, air or rail – and their influence on life in the city. This exhibition makes it clear how deeply anchored the history of Brandenburg is as a place of comings and goings. Visitors are invited to share their own life stories and paths in the “Hall of Stories” and leave them on a world map, reports City Museum website.

Creativity and interaction

The project week, led by theater lecturer Nicolai Raab and artist Elli Swonken, begins on August 4th and invites you to get creative. On August 13th, art enthusiasts can create collages with graphic elements under the guidance of Swonken. The interactive tour of the special exhibition on August 27th offers even more opportunities for development, allowing guests to gain a deeper insight into the exhibition.

Even the little ones get special joy. On August 26th the “Colorful Shipping Toy Party” will take place in the Steintorturm, while on September 2nd there will be a “Toy Party” in the Frey House. These events are not only a good opportunity for families, but also promote community interaction.

Insights behind the scenes

The offer is supported by the Brandenburg an der Havel Adult Education Center and is part of the theme year “Connecting Worlds – Brandenburg as a Cultural Country 2024/2025”. The financial support comes, among others, from the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture as well as from regional savings banks and the investment bank of the state of Brandenburg, such as dubisthalle.de reported.

Anyone who would like to find out more about the city museum's offerings or take part in one of the events directly has the option of picking up the summer flyer at the box office or viewing the information online. If you have any questions, you can contact the team by email at museum@stadt-brandenburg.de or call (03381) 58 45 01.
