WasserPaten: Free environmental project starts in Brandenburg!

Something is happening for the environment in Brandenburg! The exciting environmental education project “WasserPaten” starts at the end of September 2025 and offers people interested in nature and the environment the opportunity to learn more about water conservation, hydrology and ecology through exciting lectures and excursions. Loud City of Brandenburg The adult education centers in Brandenburg an der Havel, Potsdam-Mittelmark, Uckermark and NABU Brandenburg are the initiators of this project.

The events are free of charge and are aimed not only at those interested, but also at volunteers involved in nature and water conservation. If you want to take a look behind the scenes of water supply and ecological relationships, this is the right place for you. There are still a few places available, so register quickly!

The program in detail

The lecture series begins on October 1, 2025 and includes a total of five parts. Topics such as water cycles, drinking water supply and legal framework conditions are on the agenda. The use of digital information portals is also explained. The lectures are available either on site at the kvhs bad Belzig or online via live stream. The opportunity to get a vivid picture with excursions arouses particular anticipation.

The opening excursions lead to the Bollwintalmoor in the Uckermark on September 25, 2025 and to soil exploration in the Hoher Fläming Nature Park in Arensnest on September 27, 2025. In October, tours of the waterworks and the sewage treatment plant in Brandenburg an der Havel are also on the program on October 8th and 9th. November offers excursions to the moorland and lake landscapes of Werder and other cities in Brandenburg.
