Chaos at the Techno Parade: Over 200,000 celebrated despite the rain and rescue operations!

On July 13, 2025, the techno parade “Rave The Planet” celebrated a big comeback in Berlin and was reminiscent of the legendary Love Parade. With a colorful program and strong beats, the event attracted an estimated 200,000 people celebrating, while police estimated there were over 100,000 participants. However, the weather didn't cooperate and caused rainy conditions, which somewhat spoiled the festive atmosphere. Despite the weather, the event became an impressive symbol of peace and love.

But while the music boomed loudly through the streets of the Tiergarten, there was a lot of work for the emergency services in the background. The fire brigade and the medical service had their hands full. Over 50 transports to hospitals were carried out, while the organizer's medical service treated “many hundreds of patients”. Most of the cases treated were alcohol or drug related. The operations also included some serious injuries, including two life-threatening cases. Last year, around 600 rescue missions were required at the similar event, which shows a significant increase in the burden on the medical services.

Cleaning up together after the celebration

After the party, however, there was an unpleasant sight. Participants in the parade left a lot of trash in the zoo. In order to spice up the image of Berlin after the celebration, almost 40 volunteers met on Sunday for a clean-up operation. The organizer asked participants to show responsibility and respect for the city and its environment. The Berlin City Cleaning Department (BSR) had already cleaned the streets, but the garbage was still visible in places.

The previous Love Parade, which ran from 1989 to 2010, was known for its peaceful celebrations and positive messages. This time too, the majority of the event was “largely peaceful”. Police and security forces accompanied the event with a good 1,000 officers, while only isolated crimes, including physical injuries and sexual offenses, were reported. A total of 122 people were briefly arrested to establish their identity and 56 criminal complaints were filed.

The return of the Rave The Planet parade has not only reignited the joy of music, but also shown that it is time to take responsibility. “It is important that we all stand up for our city together and respect it,” said the organizers. The emotional connection the scene has created is strong - and the love for music remains undiminished. The images of people celebrating under the umbrella will certainly remain in everyone's memory and perhaps encourage them to clean up.
