Brandenburg Innovation Prize 2025: These companies set standards!
The year 2025 has reached another brilliant highlight in Brandenburg: on July 10th, the winners of the Brandenburg Innovation Prize 2025 were announced in Cottbus. Five outstanding companies were honored for their creative and sustainable projects, which were presented as part of the “Cross Cluster Conference Sustainable Production 2025” at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Economics Minister Daniel Keller (SPD) praised the innovative strength of the award-winning proposals and their significant contribution to environmental protection. The awarding of the prize reflects the motto of the competition: "Future. Sustainable. Design."
The award winners include impressive developments from various areas. Particularly noteworthy is this AMS Alteno GmbH from Luckau, who with herWFS Clearwater Liftpresented a boat lifting system that does not use environmentally harmful hydraulic oil. This new technology uses clear water hydraulics and makes a significant contribution to water protection. It allows boats to be raised above the surface of the water, for example for wintering, and can also be used in other industrial applications.
Innovative projects that keep the environment in mind
Also awarded was the Project community “reffiSchaf”, consisting of the Franconian Research Society, the Biomanufaktur Havelland and Gut Hirschaue. Their goal is to build a sustainable value chain for lamb and sheep meat. We not only work on quality, but also on innovative processes to mask the undesirable sheep aroma. A first success of the project is the market launch of an organic bratwurst.
With particular attention to fire protection, the MB window construction and MB fire protection carpentry from Beelitz presented a prize winner. The newly developed fire protection door made of wood claims to be fire resistant for 90 minutes and relies on wood aesthetics - ideal for listed buildings. The door can be realized with larger opening dimensions and even as a two-leaf version and uses certified wood from sustainable forestry.
Artificial intelligence and health innovations in focus
Another exciting winner is Sectorlens from Potsdam, who were honored for their AI-supported platform “Find your Software”. This platform enables small and medium-sized companies to make tailor-made software selections through a simple business analysis. It combines requirements analysis, vendor identification and process support – for informed decision-making in the area of enterprise software. In addition, they wereTumor-on-chip modelsfrom CanChip GmbH, which can replace animal experiments in cancer research with realistic tests on human cell models. These models recreate complex tumor microenvironments and enable patient-specific testing for personalized therapies.
Overall, the Brandenburg Innovation Prize is an excellent initiative that not only promotes creative ideas, but also presents groundbreaking solutions to current challenges. The sum of almost 30,000 euros, which will be distributed among the award winners, supports these promising projects. The winners impressively demonstrate how companies with a good knack for innovation can achieve both economic success and a positive contribution to the environment.
