Preparations for the new season in the 3rd league are in full swing: Energie Cottbus is starting the 2025/26 season with fresh enthusiasm and has several exciting innovations in store. A very special highlight is the return of the historic coat of arms from 1966, in keeping with the club's 60th anniversary, which will be celebrated on January 31, 2026. The slogan “Back to the real coat of arms” not only signals a look back at the club’s roots, but also a fresh start.
The team will take to the pitch for the first time on Sunday, June 22, 2025 to begin preparations for the new season. The training starts at 1 p.m. on Parzellenstrasse. And the team has significantly strengthened its personnel: eight new players are coming on board, including talents like Can Moustfa from LR Ahlen and Jannis Boziaris from Astoria Walldorf, as well as experienced players like Nyamekye Awortwie-Grant from the Stuttgarter Kickers.
New additions and a strong team
The new additions are expected to bring a breath of fresh air into the game. Lukas Michelbrink, who is on loan from Hertha BSC, and Moritz Hannemann from the Würzburger Kickers can also count on pleasant hours in the Cottbus city. Further reinforcements, such as Finn Heidrich from our own youth team and Theo Ogbidi from Lok Leipzig, promise an exciting mix of experience and youth.
