Diversity in football – kicking with a handicap

Energie Cottbus's commitment to sports for the disabled is particularly pleasing. In cooperation with the Disabled and Rehabilitation Sports Association Brandenburg e.V., football training is offered for children with physical limitations, visual impairments or mental impairments. Under the direction of Marvin Gordon Jahn, FC Energie's goalkeeping coach, the children train in the LEAG Energie Stadium.

The aim of this initiative is to help young athletes develop their football skills and improve coordination. The training sessions combine playful elements with targeted exercises, and the sessions on Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. create a positive and supportive atmosphere. Registrations are possible with Luisa Wieczorke, the coordinator for youth sports. Further offers include the movement activities “Run, Throw & Jump!” as well as swimming under the motto “Make waves with us!”, which are described in more detail on the association's website kicken-mit-handicap.de.

This combination of sporting activity and promoting integration shows how important football is in Cottbus. May all games, whether in the league or in training, be successful in the coming year! The anticipation for the new season is definitely palpable.
