Energy Cottbus starts training hot: newcomers and returnees inspire fans!
Cottbus, Deutschland - The summer break is over and FC Energie Cottbus starts again! On June 22, 2025, the team started preparing for the new season 2025/26 in the 3rd division in over 30 degrees Celsius. Around 100 fans came to the start of training to follow the first units of the players. The euphoria is noticeable and the expectations are high, especially after the first intensive training session that started on the ball with exciting forms of play. The head coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz was also on site and watched the exercises with a critical eye.
This year the team has strengthened with eight newcomers and three test players are also in the squad. The newcomer Nyamekye Awortwie-Grant, which picked up directly to the water bottle before starting the unit, falls into the eye. In addition, the talented Theo Ogbidi and Moritz Hannemann, who trains individually after an injury, are already involved. Among the new faces, Lukas Michelbrink, who changes from Hertha BSC on a rental base, and Jannis Boziais, who comes from Astoria Walldorf, is also among the new faces.
new faces and talents in the squad
The squad of FC Energie Cottbus shows promising developments. The young Finn Heidrich, previously U19 captain, was promoted to the professional team, and U19 defender Joel Kwarteng Awuah has also got his chance to prove himself in training. The squad has a total age of 25.4 years and has a total market value of 4.60 million euros. Especially in midfield, where the average age is 24.1 years old and the market value is 1.63 million euros, the team has a lot of potential to properly start in the 3rd league.
The statistics show that Energie Cottbus has a good hand during their transfers. While no revenue was achieved by transfer sums, expenses of 75,000 euros are available. However, this transfer balance could still change, since those responsible are still interested in potential newcomers to further strengthen the team and optimize the squad.
The challenge before the new season
with an attractive team and a committed coach crew under Tim Schneider, who returns after one year, the foundations for a successful season are laid. He and Tobias Röder will prepare the boys for the best. One player particularly stands out in the team: Ted Tattermusch, who is the biggest player in the squad with his 1.94 meters. With a solid mix of experience and fresh talents, the team will try everything to successfully cut off in the coming season and to inspire fans. The anticipation is great and everyone is focused on training. So it remains to be seen how the newcomers and young talents will assert themselves.
