FC Energie starts back to the training camp in Austria after 10 years!
Hagenberg im Mühlkreis, Österreich - Morgen, on July 17, 2025, it says for FC Energie Cottbus: On to Austria! After more than ten years, the footballers from Lausitz are drawn to a summer training camp again, and the anticipation is tangible. The head coach Pele Wollitz and his team will spend the next few days in the picturesque Hagenberg in the Mühlkreis, near Linz. There is an intensive training program on the plan for the chord team from FC Energie.
The journey takes place by bus, and the last training session before departure takes place today. The team will be challenged in the coming days with up to eight training sessions a day - an excellent mix of technical and tactical exercises and various forms of play in order to be optimally prepared for the upcoming season in the 3rd division. After a long day of arrival that ends with a dinner together, the hot phase of preparation is waiting for the team.

The true test for the players, however, are the two test games that are scheduled for Friday and Saturday. On Friday, July 18, the team will meet the Austrian first division club SV Oberbank Ried at 6:00 p.m. in the Innviertel Arena. The next day, on Saturday, the second division club FC Hogo Hertha Wels in the Huber Arena, also at 6:00 p.m. Both encounters should offer the team the opportunity to adapt to the upcoming challenges and to make the last fine adjustments.
The interest in the test games is high because they not only have a sporting value, but should also give new structural impulses for the club. According to the trainer, who is very satisfied with the framework conditions in the training camp, this event should also help to further consolidate the team spirit. The squad is complete, apart from Lukas Michelbrink, which is currently in rehab in Berlin. A new test player, Dennis Duah, will also travel to Austria and has the chance to prove himself.
