FC Energie is starting its training camp in Austria again after 10 years!
Tomorrow, July 17, 2025, it's time for FC Energie Cottbus: Off to Austria! After more than ten years, the footballers from Lusatia are heading to a summer training camp again, and the anticipation is palpable. Head coach Pele Wollitz and his team will spend the next few days in picturesque Hagenberg im Mühlkreis, near Linz. An intensive training program is on the agenda for the FC Energie piecework group, which extends over the entire week.
The journey takes place by bus and the last training before departure takes place today. The team will be challenged with up to eight training sessions per day in the coming days - an excellent mix of technical and tactical exercises as well as different forms of play in order to be optimally prepared for the upcoming season in the 3rd league. After a long day of arrival, which ends with dinner together, the hot phase of preparation awaits the team.
Test matches in the Austrian league
The real test for the players, however, will be the two test matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday. On Friday, July 18th, the team will face the Austrian first division team SV Oberbank Ried at 6:00 p.m. in the Innviertel Arena. The next day, on Saturday, we play against the second division team FC HOGO Hertha Wels in the HUBER Arena, also at 6:00 p.m. Both matches should give the team the opportunity to prepare for the challenges ahead and make the final fine-tuning.
Interest in the test matches is high because they not only have sporting value, but are also intended to provide new structural impulses for the club. According to the coach, who is very satisfied with the general conditions in the training camp, this event should also help to further strengthen the team spirit. The squad is complete, apart from Lukas Michelbrink, who is currently undergoing rehab in Berlin. A new trial player, Dennis Duah, will also travel to Austria and have the chance to prove himself.
