Jüterbog votes: Who will be the new voice of the 13,000 citizens?
The mayoral elections are just around the corner in Jüterbog. On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the approximately 13,000 residents will have the opportunity to elect a new mayor. The election became necessary after the previous mayor, Arne Raue, accepted a Bundestag mandate in February. In the city, which is characterized by a shortage of pediatricians and the need for more support in youth and club work, four candidates are running - two women and two men, all of whom are independent.
The applicants at a glance:
- Sabrina Dimde (38 Jahre), Verwaltungsbeamtin, kandidiert für das Bürgerbündnis Jüterbog (BBJ) in einer Listenvereinigung mit der SPD. Sie bringt 16 Jahre Verwaltungserfahrung mit und arbeitet derzeit im Bundesbauministerium. Ihr Slogan: “Bürgermeisterin von hier, für hier und für alle”.
- Sebastian Geess (42 Jahre), Offizier und Einzelbewerber, konzentriert sich auf eine sichere Umgebung für Kinder und Senioren. Er ist Referent für logistische Führung im Operativen Führungskommando der Bundeswehr.
- Christiane Lindner-Klopsch (53 Jahre), Juristin und kommissarische Bürgermeisterin, führt aktuell die Verwaltung. Ihr Slogan: “Die Richtige für Jüterbog”. Sie hat über 20 Jahre als Rechtsanwältin gearbeitet und möchte die Entwicklung der Stadt voranbringen, ohne sich völlig auf den Weg ihres Vorgängers Raue zu stützen.
- Tilman Weber (Jahrgang 1982), Projektmanager und ebenfalls Einzelbewerber, betont die Bedeutung einer bürgernahen Verwaltung. Er hat das Ziel, die Betreuung für Kinder zu verbessern und ist seit Geburt körperlich eingeschränkt, was in seinen politischen Ansätzen eine besondere Perspektive einbringt.
Christiane Lindner-Klopsch as favorite
Christiane Lindner-Klopsch is considered the favorite in the race for mayor. Their political stance is conservative, but with a modern approach. She describes herself as self-confident and experienced and would like to identify with the concerns of the population. Lindner-Klopsch lives in Luckenwalde, but she doesn't see this as a disadvantage because she is intensively involved in Jüterbog. The topics of medical care and dealing with areas contaminated with ammunition are particularly important to them.
Current challenges in Jüterbog
The challenges that Jüterbog has to face cannot be dismissed. Among other things, the city has the lowest density of family doctors in all of Brandenburg, which significantly affects the health care of its citizens. Lindner-Klopsch has decided to promote the recruitment of new doctors in order to counteract this situation. In addition, security measures for areas contaminated with ammunition must be coordinated.
The upcoming mayoral elections in Jüterbog are not only an important step for the city, but also for the citizens, who can actively participate in shaping their future. While the electoral forces in Brandenburg are diverse, the people of Jüterboger have it in their hands to determine the new course.
