From August 4th to 8th, 2025, the Ströbitzer School Garden in Cottbus will be transformed into a lively children's town. This free holiday project is aimed at children aged 8 to 14 and offers them an exciting mix of creative stations, hands-on activities and varied leisure activities. Niederlausitz Current reports that registration is now possible and due to limited places, quick registration is recommended.
Interested parents can register their children at www.cottbus.de/kinderstadt. The daily activities are planned from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a town festival taking place on Friday from 11:00 a.m., which further excites the children.
Creative participation and inclusion
A special feature of the children's city is the active participation of the children in the planning. The so-called TEAM 2025 worked together with organizers on a diverse program. The needs of children with disabilities are also taken into account, creating an inclusive environment in which everyone can feel comfortable.
The organizers have a good hand in ensuring that the area is barrier-free. Although it is not fully wheelchair accessible, ramps are available at crossings and an accessible sit-down toilet is also available. There is also a supervised retreat for children who require quiet and dim lighting, and headphones are provided to ensure a pleasant atmosphere.
Flexibility and support
Another plus point is the flexible design of the program. Reading and writing are not necessary everywhere, which makes participation easier for all children. Extra staff can also be requested for additional support. Particularly noteworthy is the planned “quiet hour”, which offers space for relaxation and enables the children to find peace.
The creative offerings and individual adaptations are designed to give every child an unforgettable experience. Parents can contact the Children's City planning team at any time if they have any questions. Further details and information about registration are available here Cottbus urban development to find.
