Phil Halbauer leaves Cottbus: Change to SV Sandhausen Fix!
Another departure at Energie Cottbus: Phil Halbauer left the club after two years and will switch to SV Sandhausen for the coming season. The 26-year-old, who acts as a left wing, came to Cottbus from SV Lippstadt in the summer of 2023 and made a name for himself there. His achievements made a decisive contribution to the promotion of the FCE into the 3rd division in the 2023/24 season. Now he is looking for a new challenge in the Regionalliga Südwest after SV Sandhausen has relegated from the 3rd league, like Niederlausitz currently reported.
Overall, Halbauer played 73 games for Energie Cottbus and showed solid performances last season. In 32 league games he scored 4 goals and prepared 5 more. Nevertheless, it was not optimal for him in the second half of the season, since he was increasingly used as a joker and could not record goal participation. Since his contract was expired and an extension did not come about, the move to SV Sandhausen was now inevitable, it is noted on Liga 3

In order to be well prepared in the coming season, Energie Cottbus has already agreed six test games. These take place between June 27th and July 9th and offer the new players the opportunity to integrate and prove themselves. Even if Halbauer is now looking for his new challenge in Sandhausen, the mood at Energie Cottbus remains optimistic. The coach Olaf Janßen praised Halbauer for his flank technology and punch and sees great potential in the future players of the club to create relegation in the regional league.
