Another departure from Energie Cottbus: Phil Halbauer has left the club after two years and will move to SV Sandhausen next season. The 26-year-old, who plays as a left winger, came to Cottbus from SV Lippstadt in the summer of 2023 and made a name for himself there. His performances made a decisive contribution to FCE's promotion to the 3rd league in the 2023/24 season. Now he is looking for a new challenge in the Regionalliga Südwest after SV Sandhausen was relegated from the 3rd league Niederlausitz Current reported.
In total, Halbauer played 73 games for Energie Cottbus and showed solid performances last season. In 32 league games he scored 4 goals and prepared 5 more. In order to be well prepared for the coming season, Energie Cottbus has already agreed on six test matches. Even though Halbauer is now looking for his new challenge in Sandhausen, the mood at Energie Cottbus remains optimistic. Coach Olaf Janßen praised Halbauer for his crossing technique and penetration and sees great potential in the club's future players to stay in the regional league.
