Cup fever: DFB draw promises exciting duels!
On June 15, 2025 the time has come: the draw for the first main round in the DFB Cup for the new season is coming up. After an exciting cup final in which VfB Stuttgart triumphed 4-2 against Arminia Bielefeld, fans can look forward to seeing which opponents await their teams in the first round. The draw will take place at the German Football Museum in Dortmund and starts at 5:15 p.m. The talented athlete Owen Ansah, who was the first German to run the 100 meters under 10 seconds, will act as the lottery ticket, and the excitement will not only be felt in the museum, but also among the fans in front of the screens, because the event will be broadcast live on ZDF and there is also a live stream on ran.de as well as a live ticker to provide everyone with information.

When and where does it start?
The first cup games will take place between August 15 and 18, 2025. However, the defending champions, VfB Stuttgart, and the champions, FC Bayern Munich, will only take part in the action on August 26th and 27th, 2025, after they play the Franz Beckenbauer Cup on August 16th. The people of Cologne can already look forward to exciting games and possibly a clash between BFC Dynamo and 1. FC Union Berlin, although such a match could possibly be moved to the Olympiastadion, as was discussed in a recent forum.
