Around 900 runners take part in the Schlossinsellauf in Lübben!

In Lübben, the Schlossinsellauf celebrated a sporting festival of a special kind. With around 900 participants, consisting of a colorful mix of children, young people and adults, the event became a highlight in the region. Around 500 young runners and 400 adults took part in various distances. The half marathon route was particularly popular, with 150 participants completing it. The Schlossinsellauf has thus established itself as one of the most important fun runs in the area. Niederlausitz Current reports that the event began with a festive service by the Lübben Evangelical Church Community, which gave the event a special setting.

The atmosphere at the venue was characterized by a varied supporting program. The percussion group Kitchen Drum from Berlin created a real atmosphere with their rousing performance. In addition, numerous sponsors had set up creative stands where visitors could chat and refresh themselves. The offer of refreshments and shade was extremely important for the runners, so the various aid stations along the route were consistently praised by the participants.

Children and young people in focus

An essential part of the Schlossinsellauf are the runs for children and young people. In Germany there are around 3,000 running events especially for young people, like on HDSports can be read. The distances vary depending on the age of the participants: Bambini runs for the little ones usually cover less than 1,000 meters, while older students and young people often cover two to three kilometers. Parents are often allowed to run alongside their children in the Bambini runs, which promotes community and fun.

The next opportunity to get active with the Castle Island Run will be available soon. The next run will take place on June 21, 2026, and the anticipation is already palpable. Over the years it has been shown that such events not only promote sporting ambitions, but also create valuable social contacts and a feeling of community. A nice example of how sport and joy can go hand in hand.

Those interested should keep an eye on the dates for children's runs in Germany, as almost two thirds of the approximately 5,000 running events in Germany also offer children's and school runs. The range of events on offer is diverse and takes place in large cities as well as at small fun runs, which means that running is very popular with young people throughout the country.
