Future of healthcare: Citizens' dialogue in Luckau on November 13th!

An exciting opportunity for all citizens in the Dahme-Spreewald district is just around the corner: the next citizens' dialogue on health care in the region will take place on November 13, 2025. This important exchange is offered on the premises of the Bohnstedt Gymnasium in Luckau and begins at 5 p.m. Dahme-Spreewald has made it its mission to incorporate the voice of the population into the development of viable health concepts.

The event is organized by the Health Lausitz Model Region, together with the Medical University of Lausitz – Carl Thiem (MUL–CT) and the Dahme-Spreewald district. Citizens are warmly invited to contribute their experiences, wishes and expectations regarding healthcare. The goal: to create modern, networked and close-to-home healthcare.

The process of the citizen dialogue

What the dialogue looks like is also exciting: the event is divided into two parts. First there is an introduction to the model region, followed by an open exchange so that everyone can express their questions and concerns. In the second part, small discussion groups – so-called world cafés – take place. The focus here is on central questions of health care, moderated by MUL–CT experts. In addition, an extra date is offered for in-depth interviews in small, representative groups.

Particular attention is paid to the topics that citizens want to address. This includes: future offers in medicine, care, therapy and support as well as measures for health promotion and education. Strengthening nurses and medical staff in the region is another key issue that will be discussed. Gesunde Lausitz emphasizes the importance of citizens' opinions for future healthcare and invites all interested citizens.

Important information about registration

The number of participants is limited to 100 people, so registration is required. Anyone interested can register by email at buergerdialoge@dahme-spreewald.de and secure their place in this important dialogue. Anyone who cannot take part in Luckau has the opportunity to be there on November 24, 2025 in Lübben in the large meeting room of the district administration. Registration is also required for this event.

The citizens' dialogue aims to design health care here in Lusatia in such a way that it meets the needs of the population. The population has the chance to actively formulate ideas or improvements and thus make a valuable contribution to future healthcare. If you want to know what really matters in the healthcare system, you definitely shouldn't miss this appointment. Further information regarding similar dialogues in the region, including in Lauchhammer and Senftenberg, is already being planned OSL.
