Discover your strength: Children’s project Strong as a beast” in Brandenburg
Things will be exciting in October for children aged 8 and over in Cologne: The project “Strong as an animal – discover your strength” will take place from October 20th to 24th, 2025 at the adult education center at Upstallstrasse 25, and it’s completely free of charge. The kids not only learn to discover their individual strengths, but are also creative at work.
For anyone interested in theater, the morning program offers opportunities to work on their own scenes and roles under the guidance of a theater teacher. In the afternoon there will be creative workshops that include mask making, felting and a sewing workshop. At the end of the week, everyone involved can expect a presentation to family and friends that will show what the children have learned during the project.
Get children excited about art
This project is carried out in cooperation with the adult education center, the Fouqué library, BBAG e.V. and the “One Square Kilometer of Education” foundation. The funding is provided as part of the federal program “Culture makes you strong!” from the BMFSFJ, which has been supporting numerous cultural education projects since 2023. This is also confirmed by bündnisse-fuer-bildung, which has selected 27 nationwide partners for cultural education in order to open up new opportunities for children and young people with limited educational opportunities.
Another exciting offer for the little ones is an autumn holiday project from Theater Marabu, which will be offered from October 20th to 23rd, 2025 for children aged 7 and over. This is all about the topic of “bad bugs”. Together with a beetle expert, participants have the opportunity to learn about insects and integrate this into a play. A live visit to the meadow will round off the experience.
Diverse offers during the holidays
The Marabu Theater has carried out many free holiday projects for different age groups in the past. One example is the summer holiday project “Breaking_The_Code” for young people aged 10 to 14, which offered unforgettable experiences with dance and theater. Such projects not only benefit the children's creativity, but also strengthen the sense of community and, at the same time, promote the self-confidence of the young participants.
Registration for the “Strong as an Animal” project is mandatory. The adult education center not only provides creative catering, but also ensures that the children are well cared for during the time. If you would like to find out more about what the adult education center offers, you can find further information on the website www.vhs-brandenburg.de.
Victims of artistic creation, the children are once again the real winners. City of Brandenburg and the partners ensure that they can develop their talents, and that is something that as a parent you would certainly like to take your child to.
