On July 8, 2025, a special exhibition will open in the foyer of the Brandenburg State Parliament that celebrates the long tradition of the Brandenburg Main and State Stud Neustadt (Dosse). Under the motto “To the best of the country – the Brandenburg main and state stud in the context of time,” the exhibition shows exciting insights into the 235-year history of horse breeding in the region. Historical exhibits, original documents and interactive information stations invite visitors to find out more about the development and significance of the stud farm.
The opening will be by the President of the State Parliament, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Liedtke, followed by a round of discussions with well-known representatives from the horse industry, including Gregor Beyer, State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Dr. Henning Frevert, country stable master, and Volker Wulff, initiator of the “Neustadt Horse Summer”. This round will be moderated by Dr. Carolin Pfanne-Oertwich, who acts as managing director of the stud. The event will be accompanied musically by the violoncellist Julie Auer from Cottbus.
What can visitors expect? The exhibition can be viewed from July 9th to September 4th, 2025 during the opening hours of the state parliament, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free; prior registration is not required. Horse lovers and those interested should not miss this opportunity to experience the historical significance of the stud farm up close.
