Attention drivers! A10 and Brieselang junction closed in July!

At the heart of the traffic chaos in the Berlin region, there is news that drivers on the A10 should take with caution. From today, July 3, 2025, traffic at the Brieselang junction will be limited to one lane during the day. The reason for this is necessary construction work to stabilize the traffic situation in the region and prepare for the upcoming increase in traffic volume. Meeting point Brandenburg reports possible short-term restrictions on the L202 due to construction site traffic.

These measures are particularly important because extensive work is being carried out on the Ringbahn and Westend bridges on the A100 in Berlin. “We have to relieve traffic on the A10,” explains Ute Bonde, Senator for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment, in a press release Berlin.de. The closure comes into effect from 8:00 p.m. today. Once again it shows how important quick reactions are to avert danger, for which the federal Autobahn GmbH can be praised.

Detours and traffic jams

Autobahn GmbH has already planned measures to redirect traffic. The diversion will take place via the neighboring Spandau and Falkensee junctions, and drivers must expect a U-turn. In addition, due to the location of the affected route, there will probably be traffic jams on this section of the A100. It is therefore advisable to switch to alternative means of transport such as S-Bahn and regional trains or to consider more extensive bypasses.

With the demolition of the bridges and the upcoming construction work, traffic on the bypass routes is expected to increase, which could also pose some challenges. Autobahn GmbH, which has been responsible for the planning, construction and operation of motorways in Germany since 2018, will work together with traffic experts on possible bypass options. The goal is to find the safest and most efficient routes for road users. Autobahn GmbH After all, it has a large network of 13,000 kilometers of highway and considerable experience to draw on.

With these measures, politicians are well advised and show that they have a good knack for solving traffic problems. If you look at the coming weeks, a certain amount of patience will be required from drivers - especially in the Berlin area. So stay calm and plan your trips well in advance to avoid the traffic jams as best as possible!
