A look at the future of CSDs

The CSDs not only have a long tradition, but are also a strong symbol of equality and acceptance. The first CSD in Berlin took place in 1979, and today the events shine with exaggerated contention for the rights of queer people. This year the Pride season in Brandenburg starts onMay 17thwith events in Angermünde and Potsdam. Participants will also have a special CSD experience on July 5th in Falkensee, during the CSD in BerlinJuly 26this planned. The celebrations are now in full swing and don't end until October. Daily Mirror shows that numerous cities in the area are also planning exciting events and parades.

Despite the many positive aspects, many CSDs are currently struggling with financing problems, which is clear in both Brandenburg and Berlin. Sponsors, particularly those from overseas, are withdrawing their support. Nevertheless, CSDs remain an important tool for raising awareness of discrimination and inequality, which underlines the relevance of these events.
