Chaos in Havelland: Accidents and break-ins shock the citizens!
There was a lot going on in Rathenow and the surrounding area at the weekend that kept the police on their toes. On Sunday evening, November 9th, a 71-year-old woman discovered at the police station that she had been driving her motorhome without a valid driver's license. A report was filed for driving without a license and the vehicle key was confiscated to avert danger. The criminal police are investigating.
But the police operations were not limited to this situation. On Monday morning, an accident occurred on Bredower Straße in Falkensee: a car collided with a lantern and a garden fence, with the 35-year-old driver apparently succumbing to a microsleep. He had to be taken to the hospital while the vehicle was recovered by the fire department. The road was closed for about an hour. The property damage amounted to several thousand euros.
Accidents and break-ins
An accident involving wild animals occurred on Sunday on the meadow path in Brieselang. Here a deer crossed the road and collided with a BMW, but fortunately the driver was uninjured. The dead animal was reported to a responsible hunter.
There was another incident in Nauen, where a 15-year-old e-scooter driver was traveling without an insurance license plate. Since he was unable to provide proof of insurance, a criminal complaint was filed for driving without insurance and he was prohibited from continuing his journey. This topic is particularly explosive because e-scooters must be insured in Germany, as the ADAC explains. E-scooters are only allowed to operate if they have an operating license and their use is subject to strict rules.
Arson and burglaries
On the night of Saturday to Sunday, a burning tree was reported directly in Brandenburg Neustadt. Witnesses reported seeing a burning object stuck in the tree. The fire department was able to intervene quickly, so the property damage is estimated at around 1,000 euros. The police are investigating arson crime.
But burglaries also kept the police busy: In the city of Brandenburg an der Havel, a tenant discovered a burglary had occurred in his apartment on Sunday morning. Unknown perpetrators had forcibly gained access via the balcony and searched all rooms for valuables. Forensic science secured traces, but there was no evidence of the stolen goods. On Saturday, more perpetrators broke into an apartment on Potsdamer Landstrasse, stole two electrical devices and left chaos behind.
In summary, the police in the region are required to deal with violations and crimes. In addition to traffic offenders on e-scooters and the incidents in Rathenow, the increasing number of burglaries and arson crimes must also be taken into account. Local authorities are in constant communication to ensure the safety of citizens.
Further information on the regulation of e-scooters can be found at the ADAC, which provides detailed information about compulsory insurance and other important regulations: ADAC.
The events of the last few days show how important it is to be vigilant in traffic and to be safe in the home. Stay vigilant and protect yourself and others!
