Falkensee celebrates: Restaurant Sawito receives coveted Michelin star!
An exciting day for the gastronomy scene in Brandenburg: The restaurant Sawito in Falkensee has now received a Michelin star. This makes it the third restaurant in Brandenburg to be honored with this prestigious award. Restaurant tester Manuela Blisse praised the menu at Sawito and was pleasantly surprised by the successful combination of classic basics and modern dishes that the restaurant offers.
This award was presented at a ceremony on Tuesday evening in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to Sawito, two other restaurants in Brandenburg were also allowed to keep their stars: das Cooking room in the Ratswaage restaurant in Potsdam as well Old crossing in Werder an der Havel. There are now 17 restaurants in Berlin with a Michelin star, including the recently awarded restaurantsLoumiin Kreuzberg,Matthiasin Prenzlauer Berg andParsin Charlottenburg.
Local challenges
Despite this positive news, the region is overshadowed by another, less pleasant reality. The storm “Ziros”, which swept across Havelland on Monday, led to a frightening 200 fire brigade operations, especially in Rathenow and Falkensee. The storm was tragic in Schönwalde, where a woman was trapped in her car by a falling tree and fatally injured. While some towns were severely affected, others were largely spared.
There is also a discussion about this in Falkensee“Compact” magazinefor excitement. After the lifting of the ban, which was issued in July 2024 by former Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser due to right-wing extremist content, politicians are concerned, but do not want to fear unrest.
New residential projects in the Olympic Village
However, the position of district fire chief in the Havelland district has remained vacant for six months, indicating further challenges in the region.
This dynamic time shows that the region is moving forward in terms of both gastronomy and infrastructure, even if the challenges cannot be overlooked.
