The anticipation of thatKetzin fishing festivalgrows! From theAugust 15th to 17th, 2025the Havel promenade is transformed into a dazzling festival area. This year the city has...with Cottbuser Brauhaus GmbHbrought a new partner on board who put together an “all-round, worry-free package” with various attractions. The highlights of the festival are impressive30 meter high Ferris wheel, a large fireworks display and a variety of musical performances.
The mayor will open on Friday, August 15thKatrin Mußhoffthe festival with the traditional tapping of the barrel and the coronation of the new Fisherman Queen. This year too, visitors can look forward to abig fireworks displaylook forward to opening day. The performances of theParty band “Biba & The Butzemen”on Saturday evening and the pop starKevin NeonSunday afternoons promise the best entertainment on two stages, which are played almost around the clock. The small stage, which presents Irish folk music throughout the weekend, offers an additional musical experience.
The tradition of the fishing festival
The Ketzin fishing festival has a long tradition. Carried out for the first time this year1939, it is based on the history of professional fishing on the Havel and surrounding lakes. The parade on SundayAugust 17th, includes hundreds of participants who move through the city and represent different eras of Ketzin's history, as was empirically proven last year - here, Ketzin's youth danced in the style of the Roaring Twenties in Charleston and flapper dresses, as reported MOZ.
The traditional fishing trip on the Havel, which takes place on Sunday1:30 p.mstarts is another highlight. This also includes the famous fish auction, where participants bid for fresh carp, pike and even a15 kg catfishcan offer. Approximately120-130kg fishwill be auctioned off and the proceeds from this auction will go to a good cause in Ketzin.
A feast for all senses
But the fishing festival has much more to offer. The physical well-being of the visitors is ensuredinternational street food market, which offers all kinds of culinary delicacies. There is also a classic fairground with many attractions. The festival opening times are:

- 17. August: 11 bis 18 Uhr
