Rhinow's fire department celebrates 130 years with a festive parade and cheers!

June 28, 2025 was a very special day in Rhinow: the city celebrated the 130th anniversary of its fire department. The celebrations began at 10:00 a.m. with an elaborate parade in which numerous fire departments from the area and the “Knirpsenstadt” kindergarten took part with a colorful group of children. Particularly worth seeing was the youth fire brigade, which presented itself in formation and in full uniform. The parade was accompanied by music from a wind orchestra, which further enhanced the festive mood. Local residents everywhere rejoiced and did not miss the opportunity to witness this important event.

The move was followed by an extensive supporting program at the station. Here, visitors were able to admire a technology display, experience various operational exercises live, including demonstrations by the customs dog squad and the district's diving squad, and watch the youngsters in exciting scenarios. There was a bouncy castle for the little guests, while food and drinks were provided for their physical well-being. Music ensured that the party mood lasted into the evening.

Focus on community and collaboration

The anniversary event was seen not only as a celebration, but also as a sign of community. The 125th anniversary was supposed to be celebrated five years ago, but Corona put a stop to the organizers' plans. This year we should celebrate as much as possible. Another highlight of the event was the large blue light meeting, which took place around 12:00 p.m. and attracted many more people interested in fire services.

The fire department in Rhinow has a long tradition that dates back to 1895, when it was founded in the Scheelchen Gasthof. The long history shows how important this institution has been to the community over the years. It is not without reason that the work carried out in Rhinow was very well received: this not only includes emergency operations, but also youth work, which has experienced an enormous upswing in recent years.
