Art, culture and color: Vernissage Living Abstraction” in Brandenburg!
Brandenburg an der Havel is getting ready for an exciting weekend full of art and culture! The exhibition “Living Abstraction” by Angelika Quarter opens in the culture pavilion on August 16, 2025. From 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the opening invites all art lovers to admire the artist's works. The culture pavilion at Nicolaiplatz 1 functions as part of the popular Brandenburger Höfefest, which starts on the same day in the historic old town and is celebrated into the night.
The artist show will present works in acrylic on canvas and paper, monotypes and collages. Angelika Quarter has set itself the goal of expressing unlimited shapes, colors and materials in her work. Each of her pictures tells its own story and invites viewers to immerse themselves in her creative world and learn something about the connection with nature. The exhibition can be visited every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., complemented by collage workshops taking place every Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration for the workshops is possible by email to gela1902web.de. This gives all art enthusiasts the opportunity to become active and express their creativity while becoming part of the community.
A feast for the senses
Parallel to the art exhibition, the Höfefest takes place in the old town of Brandenburg an der Havel, which this year is even more diverse than before with 42 venues. The “Altstädter” association has put together a colorful program that ranges from art and bric-a-brac to live music and culinary delicacies. The starting shot will be fired at 2 p.m. and the mood in the heart of the city will certainly be high.

A look outside the box
Other cities also use the summer months for special events: The Höfefest in Fürth will take place on July 19, 2025 and will open private courtyards for art and culture. Numerous farms are visited, art and music are offered, and a farm flea market also invites you to browse. These events show how important cultural encounters are in summer and the joy they bring to the community.
Whether in Brandenburg or Fürth, the preparations for these festivities are always based on the motto of gatherings and experiences in nature and culture. No matter whether you want to admire the art of Angelika Quarter, feast at the courtyard festival in the old town or explore the open courtyards in Fürth - cultural diversity is a pleasure for young and old.
