Risky chemicals in Nauen: Police discover huge drug laboratory!
A major drug discovery is causing excitement and unrest in Nauen. Since May 2025, the investigators from the customs investigation office have been on an intensive search for clues with the support of the federal police and the state police from Berlin and Brandenburg. The raid, which took place on October 30, uncovered an impressive 500 m² warehouse, described as the largest drug laboratory that operations manager Henner Grote has ever seen in his over 30 years of experience. Large quantities of canisters and open tubs containing unknown chemicals were discovered in this hall, which led to the area being closed and secured.
The situation became critical when three officers suffered minor burns from escaping fumes on the day of the operation and had to be taken to hospital for treatment. As a result, specialists from disaster control, chemists and the technical relief agency had to be called in to properly clear the hall. A total of twelve containers were necessary to transport the chemicals safely and, in some cases, to have them disposed of by specialized companies.
Drug discoveries and arrest warrants
At the same time, another facet of the drug trade in Germany is becoming apparent. On April 17, 2025, the Hamburg customs investigation seized more than 71,000 doping substances worth around 165,000 euros. During a cross-border operation in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein and Saxony, drugs with a total value of around 342,000 euros were seized. The searches, in which almost 200 emergency services were involved, led to the arrest of a suspected doping drug dealer and the discovery of a parent group that distributed doping drugs and narcotics by post throughout Germany.
The substances seized included 470 grams of MDMA, 420 grams of ecstasy tablets, 47 grams of cocaine and even a Rolex as well as expensive branded clothing worth several thousand euros. This is a well-organized group of three brothers who recently, among other things, marketed several kilograms of cocaine.
Health risks from doping substances
A particularly alarming feature of doping substances is their potential danger. Liquid ecstasy, also known as GHB and GBL, can be abused as a knockout drug and poses serious health risks such as nausea, severe drowsiness, loss of consciousness, epileptic seizures and even respiratory paralysis or coma. This drug powerfully shows how important it is to be aware of and educate about the dangers of drug use.
The developments in both Nauen and Hamburg open another chapter about the challenges authorities face in the fight against drugs and their dangerous distribution patterns. The ongoing investigations by both teams show that there is by no means a standstill here. This constant battle for safety in our society is essential to effectively combat the dangers of drugs.
