Mild weather in Brandenburg: Winter service already ready to go!
Around Cologne, November seems to start with mild weather charm. Today, November 5th, 2025, we can expect a consistently dry and mild Wednesday in Brandenburg with temperatures between 13 and 16 degrees, according to reports maz-online.de. This is a welcome sight because the road maintenance departments are well prepared for winter maintenance despite the still autumnal temperatures.
On Thursday night, however, the mild weather will balance out again with cooler temperatures, which can fluctuate between 1 and 5 degrees. There is a risk of ground frost and some shallow areas of fog could also occur. But don't worry: Thursday promises lots of sunshine and maximum temperatures of around 12 to 14 degrees, as the German Weather Service (DWD) reports.
Winter service is ready
Although there is currently no snow or ice in sight, the winter service in Brandenburg has been on standby as usual since November 1st. The salt halls are full to the brim and the vehicles have been converted for winter service, reported stern.de. This is particularly true for districts like Oder-Spree that have completed their preparations. The ADAC has also advised not to lose sight of the winter suitability of vehicles, with the rule of thumb being: winter tires should be installed “from October to Easter”.
In short, while Cologne residents enjoy the mild November weather, they can rest assured that the streets are also well prepared for the cold season.
