On November 4th, 2025, Fortuna Glienicke fans can breathe a sigh of relief: After a mixed first half of the season in the North Football Regional League, BSC Fortuna Glienicke finally achieved their first win of the season on matchday 9. There was great celebration when the team won the game against Preussen Eberswalde 4-2, after already being down 2-0. Coach Jamill Mavula described the victory as a “liberation” and sees it as a necessary boost for the rest of the season. Before this success, there were only two points from the first six games. They also suffered a defeat in the national cup (1:2 against Veritas Wittenberge/Breese) and the pressure situation was enormous.
What were the keys to this comeback? Mavula emphasized that the team had to learn new virtues in the current situation. Instead of playing carefree offensive football, it is now necessary to “work football” and fight for the ball in every duel. Last season was also marked by challenges for Fortuna Glienicke; They became runners-up three times and most recently came fifth three times – a result that raised high expectations and is now accompanied by a different standard.
