However, parliamentary group leader Michael Gerlach from the Gerlach/FDP/Animal Protection Party/BSW/Zimmermann faction has submitted an application to prevent the demolition of the pagoda and to place the monument under protection. The application was submitted to the city council (SVV) on September 25, 2025.
