Flashing light on the A15: Speeders face high fines near Lübbenau!

Today, July 13, 2025, a new mobile speed camera is causing a stir on the A15 motorway in Brandenburg. As news.de reports, the radar control is located in the Lübbenau area Spreewald, more precisely near Klein Beuchow in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. The speed limit here is 80 km/h, and the speed camera position was reported at 5:31 a.m.

Mobile speed cameras are an important tool for increasing traffic safety. In particular, speeders and jockeys who do not adhere to the speed limits now have to expect more fines and possible driving bans. The legal basis for these measures is set out in the Road Traffic Act (StVO) and the catalog of fines. By the way, the use of speed camera apps and radar detectors in the car is prohibited; only speed camera warnings on the radio are permitted.

Current situation on the A15

The A15, also known as the Spreewaldautobahn, stretches for 64 kilometers and connects the BAB 13 with the German-Polish border. This motorway is part of European Road 36 and is characterized by its clear speed regulation. Outside built-up areas, the speed limit is 100 km/h, while on motorways there is a recommended speed limit of 130 km/h, as derbussgeldkatalog.de explains.

So that drivers are always informed, here is an overview of the fines for speeding on the A15:

transgression fine Points Driving ban
21-25 km/h 100 EUR 1
26-30 km/h 150 EUR 1 1 month
31-40 km/h 200 EUR 1 1 month
41-50 km/h 320 EUR 2 1 month
51-60 km/h 440 EUR 2
Over 60 km/h 700 EUR 2

Fines and Points: An Overview

The regulations for speeding violations are designed in such a way that they lead to noticeable consequences even for repeated violations. If you exceed the speed limit by more than 26 km/h there is a risk of a one-month driving ban within a year, which should warn drivers to be careful, as the ADAC explains. Drivers typically only find out about violations through a hearing, which underlines the importance of being mindful while driving. In addition to the fines, there are over 4,500 stationary speed cameras installed in Germany, and there are also several thousand mobile speed cameras every day that monitor compliance with traffic rules.

It is therefore advisable to always pay attention to the speed limits and to keep your own driving skills under control. After all, road safety is not only in the hands of the police officers, but also the responsibility of each individual driver.
