DRK Schipkau is celebrating 107 years with a big festival and fire department activities!

What a highlight in the world of volunteering! At the end of August, the DRK local association Schipkau celebrated its proud 107th anniversary with a colorful festival. Numerous guests had the opportunity to take part in the celebrations and learn more about the valuable work of the local association. Not only was the past honored here, but also a look into the future.

In the greetings from chairman René Bergander and the district association leader Bianka Sebischka-Klaus, the voluntary work of the members was highlighted. Bianka Sebischka-Klaus looked back on the impressive history of the DRK local association and paid tribute to the many helpers who form the foundation of this health and social institution.

Colorful frame and delicious treats

The anniversary celebration offered a diverse supporting program that had something to offer for young and old. Visitors were able to tour the association's clothing store and premises, and children enjoyed bouncy castles and face painting. We went higher with rides on a crane or tractor rides, while fans of the fire department got their money's worth on tours with the volunteers from the Schipkau fire department. Your physical well-being was also well taken care of: coffee, home-baked cakes, grilled food and even fresh fish were a must!

But the DRK local association Schipkau is not only known for its celebrations. He is part of the large network of German Red Cross (DRK), which was founded on January 25, 1921 in Bamberg. With an extensive area of ​​operations that includes civil defense and disaster control, as well as blood donation and medical services, the DRK plays a central role in society. There are currently almost 2.5 million active members in the DRK.
