There's a lot of celebration going on in Lauchhammer these days - and for good reason! The city looks back on a proud 25 years of saunas and leisure pools. The indoor leisure pool “Am Weinberg” opened its doors on November 18, 2000, and since then it has enjoyed great popularity among guests young and old.

With around 118,000 visitors annually, the facility has established itself as a popular destination. Progress never stops - in 2016/17 the sauna and outdoor areas were modernized, and in 2018 the name was changed to Sauna & Freizeitbad Lauchhammer, with the “Service Quality Germany” seal of approval as a guarantee of the highest level of service. And energy costs will also be reduced by installing a photovoltaic system with an output of 92 kilowatts in 2025.

A refreshing offer for young and old

The sauna and leisure pool at Weinbergstrasse 5 offers a wide range of leisure activities. Swimming enthusiasts will get their money's worth in the 25-meter swimming pool, while the heated relaxation pool with massage mushroom promises optimal relaxation. Families can look forward to a heated outdoor area with a lazy river, bubble loungers and massage jets - ideal for a family Sunday!

For the little ones there is an exciting parent-child area with warm water, an elephant slide and other water play equipment. Adrenaline fans will be thrilled by the huge adventure slide with a length of 76 meters and a spectacular water curtain. In the sauna area, guests can expect a spacious area of ​​approx. 1,500 m², which offers, among other things, a vitamin sauna, a Finnish sauna and a miner sauna.

Sauna guests can also look forward to various cooling options, including plunge pools and foot changing pools. For social gatherings, there is a restaurant and a warming pool where visitors can have a relaxed chat.

Anniversary celebrations

During the anniversary week from November 17th to 23rd, 2025, guests can look forward to a 25% discount on individual admissions. A special highlight will be the anniversary sauna evening on November 21, 2025 with an expanded program. The bathroom is in very good technical condition and is regularly maintained. Around 250 children learn to swim here every year - a strong sign of the family-friendliness of the facility.

Interestingly, current statistics show that visiting saunas and steam baths during leisure time has become more popular overall in Germany. IfD Allensbach's research documents this trend from 2019 to 2025 and has produced significant increases in the number of visitors. Recently, many Germans regularly visited the sauna or steam bath, which is likely to have a positive effect on the usage situation of the Lauchhammerer Bad.
