Federal Cross of Merit: Steinmeier honors six Ruppin personalities!

A special occasion is approaching in Neuruppin: On July 3, 2025, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will award the Federal Cross of Merit in the Kulturkirche Neuruppin. This honor is not only given to the committed Gabriele Lettow from Neuruppin, but also to a total of six personalities who have distinguished themselves through remarkable social commitment. • Almut und Karl-Heinz Götz (Neuruppin): Ein Ehepaar, das sich lebhaft in kulturelle Projekte einbringt und für Gedenkveranstaltungen der Lyrikerin Eva Strittmatter bekannt ist. 2021 wurden sie mit dem Fontane-Kulturpreis ausgezeichnet.
• Thomas Heidemann (Neuruppin): Der engagierte Trainer des Neuruppiner Ruderclubs hat ein besonderes Augenmerk auf Kinder und Jugendliche gelegt und während der Corona-Pandemie innovative Sportmodelle entwickelt.
• Michael Landeck (Neuruppin): Als Lehrer hat er das Projekt “Dein Park” ins Leben gerufen, das 2024 mit dem Bundespreis Stadtgrün ausgezeichnet wurde, um die Stadt aktiv mitzugestalten.
• Sigrid Schumacher (Zernitz-Lohm): Sie ist ehrenamtliche Bürgermeisterin und hat sich stark für die Entwicklung von Kitas und die Seniorenarbeit eingesetzt.
• Jürgen Sternbeck (Fehrbellin): Der langjährige Ortsvorsteher hat Fehrbellin über zwei Jahrzehnte hinweg geprägt, wobei er sich auch in lokalen Vereinen und Städtepartnerschaften engagiert hat.
