New construction of daycare centers and residential areas: Neuruppin and Fehrbellin are changing!
There is exciting news in the area of child care in Neuruppin. The city plans to separate two of its smaller daycare centers in order to better adapt to the demands of the growing population. The influx is expected primarily due to the expansion of the commercial area and the construction of new residential areas, as Neuruppin has become more popular in recent years.
A new daycare center is being built, particularly in Fehrbellin, which is on the outskirts of the city. The existing “Luchspatzen” facility cannot be expanded and the community feels forced to act. Of the five existing daycare centers and two after-school care centers, places are only available in three daycare centers and one after-school care center. For the community's approximately 9,000 residents, this means that the new building is urgent in order to meet increasing demand. The project is currently in the consultation phase and, if everything goes smoothly, construction could begin in 2028 and open as early as 2030. There will be more details on this in the coming period.
Biker meeting for a last wish
On September 27th, a special biker meeting will take place in Neustadt to fulfill the last wish of the 47-year-old from Dreetz, who is suffering from a serious illness. Motorcycles that she loves are the focus of this event, and numerous bikers are expected to join together in a sign of solidarity.
New bike and skate park in Kyritz
There was recently a happy event to celebrate in Kyritz: the start of construction on a new bike and skate park, including a pump track, was celebrated. The planning is already well advanced and the first construction work is scheduled to begin at the beginning of October. The skate park is being built by another company and is scheduled to open later this year. Here the older kids can look forward to being active and sporty in their free time.
Neighborhood house in Kyritz: laying of the foundation stone
Another urgent construction project in Kyritz is the new neighborhood house at Kita Kunterbunt. The foundation stone was laid on September 16th after construction began with a groundbreaking ceremony in February 2024. The measures include, among other things, the demolition of an old garage complex, the clearing of bushes and the dismantling work in the existing building, which has already been completed.
We are currently working diligently on the outside walls of the new neighborhood house, and the next steps are completing the floor panels and expanding the electrical installation. The neighborhood house will house facilities such as playrooms and a conference room, which will be used in the coming years for programs run by associations such as the Arbeiterwohlfahrt Ostprignitz-Ruppin and the ESTAruppin association, among others. The planned completion of this construction work is scheduled for 2026.
In summary, it can be seen that a lot is in flux in the Ostprignitz-Ruppin region. From the new residential area in Neuruppin to the further development in Fehrbellin to the construction work in Kyritz, it is clear: the future is being actively worked on here and people can hope for a positive development.
