Construction work at the Seddiner train station: rail travelers have to adapt to disorders!

The current construction work at Seddiner Bahnhof brings numerous changes for travelers on the Re7 route between Dessau and Berlin Ostkreuz. From Friday evening, 9:30 p.m., both tracks are affected, which results in longer -planned travel times and closures. Affected train stations include Seddin, Beelitz-Heilstätten, Michendorf, Wilhelmshorst and Potsdam-Rehbrücke . The train traffic of the RE7 is only offered to a limited extent during this time.

The restrictions are significant: the RE7 will only run between Dessau and Borkheide and between the media city of Babelsberg and Berlin Ostkreuz in the future. To offer passengers an alternative, replacement traffic is set up by bus. These buses run between Griebnitzsee and Borkheide every hour and need about an hour for the route. Travelers should also plan a transfer time of about 40 minutes in Borkheide if they want to drive towards Dessau.

Additional claims and criticism

The situation causes unrest: the mayor of Beelitz demands improvements to replacement traffic, since the existing regular buses are already very busy. The Berlin-Brandenburg Transport Association (VBB) checks these concerns, but no changes can be expected at the beginning of the construction work.

The construction work at Seddiner Bahnhof not only includes the renewal of the tracks, but also the change of thresholds and the cleaning of the bed. The intended track closures take at least on August 22, although it remains unclear whether the RE7 trains can actually go through again after releasing. The single -track blocking is also to be decided by September 19th.

further construction work from September

But the measures do not stop here. From September 11th, extensive construction work will also follow on the RE7 route between Seddin and Bad Belzig, which will last until December 11th. 22 kilometers of tracks and 14 switches are renewed. The train operation between Seddin and Dessau Hauptbahnhof will be discontinued during this period from September 11th to November 24th. Here the train will also rely on replacement traffic, which is to be regulated by three special bus lines:

  • Bus Re7a : Every hour between Dessau Hbf/Bad Belzig and Potsdam Hbf with holding in Roßlau and Michendorf.
  • Bus Re7b : Connection between Michendorf and Bad Belzig.
  • bus re7c : pendulum bus between Baitz and Bad Belzig.

In addition, the train traffic of lines RE7 and RB22 from September 13 to December 11 will also be affected, with some connections to fail. Among other things, the RE7 line on the section between BER Airport and Wünsdorf-Waldstadt will not run.

passengers can inquire about further information about the construction work on the websites of Deutsche Bahn and ODEG as well as in the corresponding apps. These comprehensive changes will be temporary, but have a major impact on the travel planning of commuters and travelers in the region.
