A total of nine circular hiking trails with lengths between five and 17 kilometers are planned, which will lead through picturesque landscapes. Each path has its own special features: three of them lead directly to asparagus farms, while others, such as the circuit in Reesdorf and the path around the Bruchwiesen, offer different natural and cultural experiences. A particularly impressive circular route will take hikers from the Nieplitzturm to Elsholz and back.

However, the hiking trails must be expanded in order to meet the quality criteria. Mayor Bernhard Knuth emphasizes the importance of the visual axes of the villages and emphasizes how important good path conditions, uniform signposts and comfortable rest areas are. Cultural highlights in asparagus cultivation

Asparagus has a long tradition in Beelitz, which began with its cultivation in 1861. Today, 15 companies use around 1,500 hectares of land, and the “Beelitzer Spargelstraße” informs hikers about the cultivation and processing of the “white gold”, which is harvested from April to June. Every year the “Beelitz Asparagus Festival” attracts numerous visitors and celebrates local culture with parades and fireworks, while the Asparagus Queen opens the season. The new hiking trails would like to support this aspect by strengthening the connection to the farm shops and farmers.
