Corona amnesty demanded: BSW wants justice for those affected!

A heated debate is emerging in Brandenburg about a Corona amnesty law, which the BSW (Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht) has been pushing for for some time. The state party conference is scheduled to take place next Saturday in Kleinmachnow (Potsdam-Mittelmark), where the BSW not only wants to demand the rehabilitation of people who wrongly received fines, but also wants to discuss measures to support “vaccine victims”. As maz-online.de reports, the BSW leadership is striving to counteract the stigmatization and create a study commission that will review the pandemic management of the past few years should.

A look at the coalition agreement with the SPD reveals that so far only a discussion about the amnesty law has been agreed. But party leader Sahra Wagenknecht said that government participation in Brandenburg and Thuringia had actually damaged the party as a whole. Despite the criticism, the members of the state executive committee seem to want to paint a positive picture of the government's work, especially with regard to education policy and the country's financial stability. Finance Minister Robert Crumbach was praised for the newly relaxed debt rules and for taking care of the state's financial situation.

Criticism of federal foreign policy

The BSW also takes a clear position on current geopolitical issues. Even though the war in Ukraine is condemned by the BSW leadership, the party is simultaneously calling for an end to the oil embargo and the resumption of gas imports via the Nord Stream pipeline. However, one of the most discussed topics within the BSW is the reform of the party structures. With around 180 members, the BSW plans to establish new district and city associations from September. At the same time, members were informed that all outstanding membership applications should be processed by the end of the year.

Public processing of Corona injustice

Lawyers for Enlightenment also attach great importance to the corona pandemic and its political consequences. They demand a comprehensive public examination of the so-called “Corona injustice” and also demand a Corona amnesty law. Attention is drawn to the need to stop ongoing criminal and fine proceedings. The lawyers also stated that there was no medical corona emergency from 2020 to 2023 and are calling for consequences such as the resignation of prominent political figures such as Dr. Harbarth and Karl Lauterbach. These views partially coincide with the BSW's efforts, which shows an interesting correlation between political and legal actors in the Corona debate. Facade scratches highlights the need for a parliamentary committee of inquiry to examine the events of recent years.

Another aspect that the Federal Ministry of Economics highlights with regard to the Russia sanctions is the new 14th sanctions package, which, among other things, contains a ban on the activity of transport companies that have a certain connection to Russian owners. According to bundeswirtschaftsministerium.de, this ban applies directly to the companies affected. This shows how extensive the political influence on economic structures was and represents a further point of contact for the ongoing discussions about sanctions and their effectiveness.
