The run-up to Christmas not only brings a festive atmosphere, but also a wonderful opportunity to support those in need. The MAZ Sterntaler Christmas campaign will continue in 2025. The central goal of this initiative is to help needy families and non-profit organizations in Potsdam and the surrounding area of Potsdam-Mittelmark. How MAZ reported, donations can now be submitted.
The fundraising campaign is aimed particularly at people with low incomes, including recipients of citizens' benefit or housing benefit. Anyone who needs support can contact them themselves or ask a third person - such as neighbors, social workers, teachers or trainers - for help. The applications require some information, including the name of the person in need, the request and a contact telephone number. The whole thing must have the subject “Sterntaler”.
Application process and requirements
Non-profit organizations also have the opportunity to apply for support. It is important that the projects correspond to the association's purpose and must be completed by the end of 2026. Attention: Standard financing and the assumption of personnel costs are excluded. In their applications, associations must provide the association name, a project description and the purpose of the donation and name a contact person with a telephone number.
The decision-making process regarding the distribution of donations lies with the Sterntaler Advisory Board. The AWO is responsible for managing the donation account, while the MAZ is responsible for distributing the donations. The bank details for the donation account are: Deutsche Kreditbank Berlin, IBAN: DE71 1203 0000 0000 4821 09, BIC: BYLADEM1001, intended use: MAZ-Sterntaler. Donors' names will be published unless they object to this when making the transfer.
Donation receipts and cash donations
If you need a donation receipt, you should ensure that you provide a complete postal address. These certificates will be issued in early 2026. If you would prefer to donate in cash, you can do so at the MAZ Media Store at Friedrich-Ebert-Straße 85/86.
